Windfall Submission Guidelines

You must be a Truman student to submit to Windfall.

Fall Submission Deadline: Please return next semester for the submission deadline.

How to Submit:

All works must be submitted by the deadline to windfall@truman.edu. We ask that you make the subject line of the email “Submission”. You may submit using more than one email; however we ask that you only submit the same work once. In the body of the email you are required to put your name, Truman email, and phone number. Please label each piece with a title and if it is poetry or prose. Art is generally more obvious. Submissions should be sent as attachments. Your word processor documents must be compatible with Microsoft Word 2003.

What to Submit:

We accept poetry, prose, and art. When deciding what it is you want to submit to Windfall we ask that you keep in mind that we are looking for the best Truman students have to offer. Therefore please only submit work that is in a finished form. Also, we understand that some of the work we will get will be non-fiction. Please use your best judgment in submitting work in which real people are named. If you feel the persons named in your story would be uncomfortable with the general Truman populace knowing things that concern them, then please either change the names or obtain permission from those concerned before submitting.

Length:

Due to constraints on how many pages we have to print on we request that any single prose piece be no more than eight pages long.

We strongly encourage that each author submit no more than 12 pages of poetry, 20 pages of prose, or 25 pages total for poetry and prose. For artwork we encourage that you submit no more than 15 pieces.

By placing these guidelines we at Windfall hope to encourage you as the author/artist to more carefully consider what you want to submit. We hope that you take pride in each piece that you give to our consideration and look forward to seeing what Truman students have to offer.
