To Be Lost

It was a dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, stormy night
And Paris was creeping outside
She had a shotgun, and horse to ride
To apples and a bath, a chew of rose
A speck of mountain caught in my eye
I had to close them causing water to well.
A punch to the throat
A stab in the heart- everything lost
Revenge? A stab in the back, I’ve everything back!
And nothing here left to be lost
Lying flat on the bottom, too hard and dark.
That’s what she said.
But not what she thought
A deep and ingrained soul not withstanding
