Letter From The Editor
Dear Readers,This year marked a lot of changes for Windfall, and I hope these changes are evident in the book you hold in your hand. Of the goals I set for myself and for Windfall for the year I am pleased to say that if we did not completely fulfill them, we at least made significant headway. It was my goal to recruit more members this year than we had in the past, and we saw that goal realized especially in the second semester when, rather than losing members, we gained several new ones. It goes without saying that Windfall would not be in your hands at this moment if it were not for my wonderful staff, most especially my Assistant Editor, Daniel West. It was their help that made events such as our Poetry Slam such a success. I would also like to thank the Dukum for their permission to use their upstairs at no cost for the event. Their assistance also allowed us to start reaching out to the community more than we ever have before. Another change you may notice from past issues is the number of art pieces that we have showcased, as well as the different mediums. Another of the goals for the year was to create more awareness about Windfall in the Truman community as a whole and specifically in the Art community. There is still more progress to be made, but I feel that we have made a good start.
Perhaps the biggest change for Windfall this year is location. Our Faculty Advisor, Dr. James (Jamie) D'Agostino managed to secure us an office in McClain, so that we would no longer have to worry about Kirk Memorial crumbling around our heads. Jamie, as a first year teacher and new to Truman, had Windfall foisted upon him, but he has done so much for the magazine. I don't know how to thank him enough for all his time and efforts, and the new office, and I am very grateful that he came to Truman. He is probably the best thing that happened to Windfall this entire year.
I would also like to thank all our submitters and our readers, for it is for you that we continue to publish Windfall.
Sincerely,
Jordan Kimbrell, Editor-In-Chief
